“It's not about who you were when you got here but who you are when you leave. When I first came to China, I had no idea what I was in store for. The last five months have been full of new challenges, new experiences, and discovering all that China has to offer. I have met so many new people, seen some some of the most beautiful places, and ate some of the best food I will probably ever have. As one of the youngest in the program I have grown so much over the last five months. I have learned to have an open mind to things I don't understand, adapt to a culture that is completely different to my own, and thrive on all the difference that I thought would be a challenge.

I would be lying if I said teaching ESL in a foreign country is not a challenge, but the rewards out weigh the challenges in every way possible. There have been days I have come home from work and my face hurt because of how much I had been smiling and laughing. The kids here are full of excitement and energy. They were so excited when they saw me come into their classroom for English or when I remember their English names. I can't believe how fast the time flew while I was here, my kids had a huge influence on the experience in China.”
